Muzing talks about his training as an infantryman for the United States Army during World War II, his deployment overseas, and his experiences in combat in France and Germany in 1944 and 1945. He was wounded by accidently being shot in the shoulder.

Typescript of an interview conducted by Ben Bahlmann on January 24, 1999. The audiocassettes from which the interview was transcribed were retained by Bahlmann. Gividen tells about his experiences as a co-pilot on a B-17 bomber during World War II. He talks about his training and experiences in combat. His bomber was shot down over Germany, but it crashed in Switzerland. He was severely injured, and remained in Switzerland for the remainder of the war.
